our 1st wedding anniversary

we celebrated our 1st wedding anniversary a few months back but haven't had time to post photos. stephen did a wonderful job planning this little romantic get-away. stephen and i drove up the central coast where we stayed at a beautiful little inn right along the shore. the town we were staying in was called cambria. we walked along the beach, enjoyed the fireplace in our room, dined at a very fine restaurant and even did some antique shopping. one of the great perks of having a loving and generous husband is hearing the words, "if you see anything you like, you just get it okay, hun?" i got a beautiful vintage casserole dish with light blue designs on the sides and an antique cookbook from the 1930's. the next day we drove into san simeon where we toured the very famous hearst castle! i loved that place as a child but had even more fun touring it as an adult. we couldn't help but picture a great gatsby lifestyle as we toured, imagine what it would have been like to be a guest at the castle when mr.hearts was still alive! i'm so happy that it is open to the public now, the dreamers like me are very appreciative! there is nothing like going on adventures with my favorite person in the world. we had so much fun and it was a joy to spend some quality time with my amazing husband of now a year and a half!
this cutie is happy about finally going on our anniversary weekend!

the amazing architecture of hearst castle
mr.hearst was a collector of art, boy were they stunning!

bikes, bridges and eugene o neill house

a couple weeks ago stephen and i made a little road trip up to the bay area to visit uncle don and his dad dave for the labor day weekend. this is our second year in a row we've visiting over labor day weekend so we're pretty much set on making it a tradition now. stephen and i did alcatraz and the golden gate last year so this year we did something a little more low key and relaxing. this year we stayed local in the town uncle don lives in (danville). the town is adorable with all sorts of cute little shops and tons of young families riding around on bikes and relaxing around outside. it's a pretty expensive town now a days but it didn't stop me from dreaming of living there someday! we took a little tour downtown danville where they have an old train museum and a bus you could take on a tour to the eugene o neill house. i had never heard of him but apparently we heard word on the street that the tour was remarkable. i have a thing for history and historic homes so it was a must! we took the bus over through these 3-4 million dollar homes in the hills of danville to come to this gorgeous mansion that belonged to the famous playwright eugene o neill. the house was incredible and just fell in love with all the furniture and decor of the rooms just as it was left. we enjoyed learning the history about the house and what kind of man this playwright was. the next day we took the bart to san Francisco since the bay bridge was closed for the weekend. we wanted to do something a little more low key this time so stephen made reservations for a bike rental so we could ride around the city. we got a really early start so we were riding bikes for about 6 hours! we rode all around the city and explored as freely as we wanted, it was so much fun! i was sore the next day, granted all those hills but it was so worth it. i loved riding bikes around the city and watching all the people go about their daily lives. i'm totally weird but i always try and peep my head around and see if i can peer through teh windows of those old Victorian homes in the san Fransisco and catch a glimpse of what it looks like inside. i'd die if we could live in san Fransisco! it would be a dream. then after a glorious bike ride we took uncle don and dave to an a's game. nothing much to say about the a's game but they won! stephen got us foam  fingers....right after the miley cyrus thing....it was a little awkward. but we had a good time. haha. all in all we had another great weekend in the bay area with uncle don. it was also a blessing that dave happened to be there while we planned our trip. i love seeing stephen with family. its rare so when he does get a chance to be near his "roots" it fills my heart with joy. can't wait until next year when we go up there again.
^^the stunning eugene o neill house from the front view. i would show pictures of the inside but there wasn't alot of light. oh well. ^^

saide turns 6!

^^july 5th sadie turned 6! the 4th of july we had a ton of fun and sort of celebrated her that day as well. but on her actual birthday ( my husband is so cute ) he gets off early on fridays during the summer so after work he took sadie to get a new toy and this adorable "birthday" bandana at petsmart. she loved and it and luckily it just goes around her neck. had it been on her head she would have torn it off in seconds.^^

^^we took sadie to one of our favorite restaurants that dogs themed. i'm sure i've talked about it before (called lazy dog cafe) and the restaurant actually has a special dog menu where the owners can order them either rice and meat or little sliders. sadie had so much fun hanging out with other dogs on the patio and enjoying being outside. we ordered her just the rice and she scarfed it. she made friends with a hige dog next to us so when we left we gave her remaining rice to the big dog. i'm sure he was very thankful.^^

^^after all the celebrating said was a tired doggie. fell right asleep on the ottoman as soon as we got home. it sure was fun celebrating her birthday. it may seem usual because shes not a human but for now, she is like our little baby and it was in fact her first birthday with us in our family so we went all out! we love this little dog so much and shes such a joy. i can't believe she has been our dog for over 8 months now, time flies when you're having fun!^^

4th of july 2013

^^this was sadie's first 4th of july with us so we made sure we had a good time this year! we wanted to get her a cute patriotic dress from the pet store but astonishingly they didn't have any. so we borrowed my parents dog's bandana and put it on sadie for the day. we were already staying at my parents house for a few days because they were on vacation so we figured we'd do the traditional festivities that contain of the parade around the neighborhood and then a carnival in the park.doesn't saide look adorable in this bandana? she sat quietly and was really focused on watching the parade...she loved it and made lots of doggie friends watching the parade too. ^^

^^husband and i in our tradition of old navy 4th t-shirts. i was feeling confident so i got a tank top version this year.^^

the summer so far:

^^first of all my beautiful grandma dehoop turned 83. we had a big birthday party at their house with argentine bbq ( of course ) and grandpa invited all her friends from when they first came to this country. it was super cute.it was fun to see grandma and grandpa in their element talking with old friends and having a good time. she loved all her presents with mine being her favorite...dr.phils newest book "life code" that he advertises about every 50 seconds on the show. what can i say though, we both love that show.^^
^^and other big news around here is my little sister tasmin just graduated from junior high this year. seriously still in shock over this...honestly...it may be because i loved high school so much and try to re-live those days but it really feels like i just got out of high school. so how can i barely leave high school and she enters it? impossible, so therefor i have been out of high school for some time and my sister is no longer a baby! i definitely felt flattered when the lady at the front gate taking the graduation tickets knew exactly who i was. "you must be tasmins sister...you look just liker her!" she is seriously gorgeous and yes both of our lashes are real.^^
^^also as of late so far this summer we've been doing alot more family outings. they nearly kill me every time but i guess its worth it. the picture on the left is ice cream after a hike at crystal cove and the right is a marathon we did in irvine. it was like over 90 degrees that day, and yes i'll admit it on my blog. i threw up after. whats even funnier is after the marathon we went to eat at a popular little mexican place where we ran into a couple from our church. interesting moment of "hiiiii how are you guys." (by the way, dont go in the restaurant bathroom...i just barfed in there.)^^
^^ also this summer i've done alot of complaining that i don't have any summer clothes i like. i know we're spoiled here in the o.c but seriously, i had nothing that looked good on me and i hate showing my arms which indicate i hate the season. my wonderful husband saw how distraught i was over not feeling pretty in anything for the hot season and asked if i wanted to go to forever 21 to get something. uhm, best husband ever award definitely goes to him. music to my ears! i got a few things and even got spoiled with a couple necklaces from francesca's (pictured below). if you ask me, this summer has been rolling along great! happy summer everyone!^^
