peachy keen

I finally saved enough tip money to get my quill pen! I have so many letters to write but I'm afraid I have to use a regular pen because writing with the quill is very difficult. After one word I have to dip it in ink again so one sentence will take much too long for how many letters I have to write. Anyone good at using a quill pen? I would appreciate your help...I must be doing something wrong because dipping it in ink after every word doesn't seem logical to me. hmmm.

  1. soooo cool! i've always wanted to use a quill pen... i bet after some practice you'll be a pro. ;) although, i wonder why you're having to dip it in ink SO often? odd. it's a pretty quill, though. ;)

  2. thank you!!! i tried to find the prettiest feather in the bunch.
But anyhow...i know you are supposed to write VERY lightly but I can't figure out how to make the ink last longer.

  3. Wow!! It's so pretty! I've only used a quill pen drawing in art and a drawing nib is different to a writing one so I'm no help for you sorry. Good luck trying to get it to work better.

  5. I'm sure there are much easier ways of drawing with ink but I love the feel of using a quill and ink pot. :) So much more old fashioned and elegant.

And I think I shall work on putting all the blogs I love up on my blog as well. I have actually been meaning to do it for a while. You have just motivated me :)

  10. what a beautiful quill! i did a little calligraphy class in france and the instructor made it look so easy to write with a quill and ink - in calligraphy handwriting - without having to dip it in the pot a million times. i'm afraid i never got the hang of it! it probably comes with practice though. perhaps try searching online? x

  11. that quill is gorgeous! Such pretty details. I took some lessons once on calligraphy writing. It helps a lot to train your lines if you're an artist. With enough practice, i'm sure you'll write like a queen! C:
